‘I didn't know it was you’: The impersonal grounds of relational normativity

open access: yesNoûs, Volume 59, Issue 1, Page 191-218, March 2025.
Abstract A notable feature of our moral and legal practices is the recognition of privileges, powers, and entitlements belonging to a select group of individuals in virtue of their status as victims of wrongful conduct. A philosophical literature on relational normativity purports to account for this status in terms of such notions as interests, rights,

Geomorphological processes on terrestrial planetary surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
This review deals with features and processes on planetary surfaces, first by examining the impact of photographic explorations of Moon, Mars, and Mercury on studies of surface processes on our own planet, and second by treating matters related to ...

Neuroanatomy and pneumaticity of the extinct Malagasy “horned” crocodile Voay robustus and its implications for crocodylid phylogeny and palaeoecology

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 307, Issue 8, Page 2749-2786, August 2024.
Abstract Voay robustus, the extinct Malagasy “horned” crocodile, was originally considered to be the only crocodylian representative in Madagascar during most part of the Holocene. However, Malagasy crocodylian remains have had confused taxonomic attributions and recent studies have underlined that Crocodylus and Voay populations coexisted on the ...

A Middle Triassic Cassian‐type fauna (Pelsa‐Vazzoler Lagerstätte) and the adaptive radiation of the Modern evolutionary fauna

open access: yesPapers in Palaeontology, Volume 10, Issue 4, July/August 2024.
Abstract We describe a high‐diversity silicified assemblage of marine molluscs (Pelsa‐Vazzoler Lagerstätte) from the upper Ladinian of the Agordo Dolomites (northeastern Italy). New data on the Triassic rebound, after the end‐Permian mass extinction, constrain it to an interval of relatively stable climatic conditions.

Small forested watershed weathers effects of climate change better than a nearby urban watershed in Northern Virginia, USA

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 38, Issue 3, March 2024.
Climate change has the potential to alter watershed hydrology. Hydrologic metrics of proximate urban and forested watersheds were analysed from 1952 through 2022. Higher streamflow metrics occurred in the urban watershed than the forested watershed. Despite increasing precipitation in both watersheds, increasing trends in most hydrologic metrics were ...
