Effective elastic thickness in the Central Andes. Correlation to orogenic deformation styles and lower crust high-gravity anomaly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Global studies have assessed the importance of elastic thickness (Te) on orogenic evolution, showing that the style and nature of upper crustal shortening are influenced by the inherited lithospheric strength. Thus, pioneer works have identified that the

Analysis of Possible Triggering Mechanisms of Severe Thunderstorms in the Tropical Central Andes of Peru, Mantaro Valley

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2019
The aim of the present study is to analyze the triggering mechanisms of three thunderstorms (TSs) associated with severe rainfall, hail and lightening in the tropical central Andes of Peru, specifically above the Huancayo observatory (12.04 ∘ S ...

CATTLE AND DEER ALIGN NORTH (-NORTH-EAST) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Biology, 2009
![Figure][1] Farmers, hunters, biologists and holiday-makers have invested much time and speculation on observations of cows and deer. Farmers identify that cattle face into the wind, whereas sheep face away.

Changes in Andes snow cover from MODIS data, 2000–2016 [PDF]

open access: yesThe Cryosphere, 2018
The Andes span a length of 7000 km and are important for sustaining regional water supplies. Snow variability across this region has not been studied in detail due to sparse and unevenly distributed instrumental climate data.

Subparallel thrust and normal faulting in Albania and the roles of gravitational potential energy and rheology contrasts in mountain belts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The active tectonics of Albania and surrounding regions, on the eastern margin of the Adriatic Sea, is characterized by subparallel thrust and normal faulting which, we suggest, is likely to be related to gravitational potential energy contrasts between ...

Kombinierte lösungs‐ und oberflächengestützte Synthese eines vollständig kondensierten, kreuzförmigen Phthalocyanin‐Pentamers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.

Unrest at Domuyo Volcano, Argentina, detected by geophysical and geodetic data and morphometric analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
New volcanic unrest has been detected in the Domuyo Volcanic Center (DVC), to the east of the Andes Southern Volcanic Zone in Argentina. To better understand this activity, we investigated new seismic monitoring data, gravimetric and magnetic campaign ...

Dibenzazepin‐verbrückte Netzwerk‐Polymer‐Phthalocyanine als abbaubare heterogene Photokatalysatoren

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
