Large-scale changes of the semidiurnal tide along North Atlantic coasts from 1846 to 2018 [PDF]
We investigated the long-term changes of the principal tidal component M2 along North Atlantic coasts, from 1846 to 2018. We analysed 18 tide gauges with time series starting no later than 1940. The longest is Brest with 165 years of observations.

Skilful predictions of the Summer North Atlantic Oscillation
The Summer North Atlantic Oscillation is the primary mode of atmospheric variability in the North Atlantic region and has a significant influence on regional European, North American and Asian summer climate.

Developing and Field Testing Path Planning for Robotic Aquaculture Water Quality Monitoring
Marine food chains are highly stressed by aggressive fishing practices and environmental damage. Aquaculture has increasingly become a source of seafood which spares the deleterious impact on wild fisheries.

Influence of the Multidecadal Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation Variability on European Climate [PDF]
The influence of the natural multidecadal variability of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation (MOC) on European climate is investigated using a simulation with the coupled atmosphere–ocean general circulation model ECHAM5/Max Planck Institute ...

North Atlantic Western Boundary Currents Are Intense Dissolved Organic Carbon Streams
In the North Atlantic, there are two main western boundary currents related to the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC): the Gulf Stream flowing northward and the Deep Western Boundary Current (DWBC) flowing southward.

The basic ingredients of the North Atlantic storm track. Part I: land-sea contrast and orography [PDF]
Understanding and predicting changes in storm tracks over longer time scales is a challenging problem, particularly in the North Atlantic. This is due in part to the complex range of forcings (land–sea contrast, orography, sea surface temperatures, etc.)

Two major climatic phenomena that occurred during the Holocene are interpreted from the resonance in subharmonic modes of long-period Rossby waves winding around the North Atlantic gyre, the so-called gyral Rossby waves (GRWs). These are, on the one hand,

Changes in global ocean bottom properties and volume transports in CMIP5 models under climate change scenarios [PDF]
Changes in bottom temperature, salinity and density in the global ocean by 2100 for CMIP5 climate models are investigated for the climate change scenarios RCP4.5 and RCP8.5.
