Unraveling Hydride‐Driven Multiphasic Reduction Toward Tunable Germanium Structures for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The sodium hydride (NaH)‐mediated reduction of germanium dioxide yields distinct Ge structures depending on the amount of reductant, revealing the dual roles of NaH in the reduction pathways. The synthesized Ge under off‐stoichiometric conditions exhibits a porous morphology and reduced crystallinity, which effectively mitigates volume expansion during

Famine in North Korea: Causes and Cures [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we start from incomplete data ridden with gross measurement errors to construct the underlying data base for a computable general equilibrium model (CGE) of the North Korean economy using cross-entropy estimation techniques.

Optical Charge Trap Memory Based on Graphene/ZnO Heterostructures for Long‐Term Retention and Adaptive Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A biocompatible graphene/ZnO optical charge trap memory (CTM) is reported with over 54 h retention, enabled by interfacial photodoping. Using transient absorption spectroscopy and electrical analysis, charge transfer quenching is elucidated and reveal that a large energy barrier at the interface is responsible for long‐term memory retention.

North-South technology diffusion, regional integration, and the dynamics of the natural trading partners hypothesis [PDF]

open access: yes
Based on static analysis, a number of studies argue that forming a regional trade agreement is more likely to raise welfare if member countries are"natural trading partners,"while other studies claim that the opposite is true. Schiff and Wang look at the

Toward Reliable Metal Halide Perovskite FETs: From Electronic Structure and Device Physics to Stability and Performance Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Metal halide perovskite field‐effect transistors (PeFETs) offer great promise for flexible, low‐cost, and high‐performance due to their excellent charge carrier properties. However, challenges like ion migration, hysteresis, and instability limit their performance.
