Agricultural Impact on Groundwater Vulnerability to Nitrate in Northern Croatia

There is noticeable negative impact on soil and water quality caused by nutrient leaching, especially nitrate. Five regions in Croatia are preliminary delineated as nitrate vulnerable zones, including potentially vulnerable zones (PVZ) and vulnerable zones (VZ), one of them being Varaždin County. Agricultural land spreads on 59% of its total area.

Secrets within stems: The cryptic Apodanthes caseariae (Apodanthaceae), a rare neotropical holoendoparasite

Holoendoparasites are extremely rare plants that live entirely hidden inside their hosts, with only flowers and fruits visible. We studied Apodanthes caseariae, found in central and South America, parasitizing Casearia sylvestris. Little is known about its life cycle.

Hydrogeology of the western part of the Drava Basin in Croatia

This paper presents a hydrogeological map of the western part of the Drava Basin in northern Croatia. An area of approximately 660 km2 is included in the hydrogeological map at a scale of 1:100,000. The map was made using ESRI ArcGIS 10 and ArcMap 10.2.1.
