Survival After Norwood Procedure in High-Risk Patients

Multiple single-ventricle populations are noted to be at increased risk for mortality after the Norwood procedure. Preoperative risk factors include low birth weight, restrictive/intact atrial septum, obstructed pulmonary veins, ventricular dysfunction, and atrioventricular valve regurgitation.

Norwood Procedure Combined With the Starnes Procedure

We describe the case of 6-day-old baby girl with congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries, Ebstein anomaly with severe tricuspid valve regurgitation, aortic atresia, hypoplastic aortic arch, and patent ductus arteriosus. She underwent Starnes procedure combined with the Norwood procedure.
