Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

A Circuit of Mechanically Regulated Transcription Factors Balances Regenerative and Fibrotic Memory of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Producing MSCs on rigid culture substrates induces a scar‐making phenotype, jeapordizing therapeutic success. ‘Tissue‐soft’ surfaces prevent MSC fibrogenesis and preserve regenerative traits. An epigenetic network, driven by HOXA11 and SALL1, maintains ‘soft memory’ by keeping chromatin open in relaxed MSCs, promoting anti‐fibrotic programs.

Acromegaly

open access: yesOrphanet Journal of Rare Diseases, 2008
Acromegaly is an acquired disorder related to excessive production of growth hormone (GH) and characterized by progressive somatic disfigurement (mainly involving the face and extremities) and systemic manifestations. The prevalence is estimated at 1:140,

Smart Nanotechnologies for Multimodal Neuromodulation and Brain Interfacing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Recent advances in smart nanotechnologies are expanding the toolbox for brain interfacing, from wireless neuromodulation and high‐resolution sensing to targeted delivery within the central nervous system. By combining responsive nanomaterials with bioinspired design, these platforms enable multimodal interactions with neurons and glia, while also ...

Jacobsen syndrome

open access: yesOrphanet Journal of Rare Diseases, 2009
Jacobsen syndrome is a MCA/MR contiguous gene syndrome caused by partial deletion of the long arm of chromosome 11. To date, over 200 cases have been reported. The prevalence has been estimated at 1/100,000 births, with a female/male ratio 2:1.

Artificial Piezoelectric Interface Enables Ultrafast Interfacial Ion Kinetic for Highly‐Sensitive Piezoionic Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study proposes a piezoelectric interface modification strategy to amplify the piezoionic effect. The piezoelectric interface generates an intrinsic electric field, which not only drives rapid ion migration but also concentrates polarized ions on the interface. The flexible sensor delivers superior performance, such as a quick response rate, strong

Cone‐Beam Computed Tomography of Osteogenesis Imperfecta Types III and IV: Three‐Dimensional Evaluation of Craniofacial Features and Upper Airways

open access: yesJBMR Plus, 2019
This cross‐sectional study investigated the natural history of craniofacial deformities in osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) and determined the impact of three‐dimensional (3D) analysis on diagnosis and treatment planning in orthodontics and orthognathic ...

Robust and Thermally Stable Silicone Aerogels with Hyperconnected Network via Kinetically Optimized Hyperbranched Silane Precursors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Reactivity‐Programmed Assembly: A kinetic‐control strategy is reported for constructing hyperconnected silicone aerogels with a robust “thick‐neck” architecture. By exploiting the reactivity disparity of precursors, flexible segments are uniformly embedded within a rigid skeleton.

Clinical periodontal diagnosis

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Periodontal diseases include pathological conditions elicited by the presence of bacterial biofilms leading to a host response. In the diagnostic process, clinical signs such as bleeding on probing, development of periodontal pockets and gingival recessions, furcation involvement and presence of radiographic bone loss should be assessed prior ...

Uniform 3D meshes to establish normative facial averages of healthy infants during the first year of life.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Three-dimensional (3D) surface imaging systems are replacing direct anthropometry as the preferred method for capturing facial soft-tissues. Aims of this study were: (1) to develop normative average 3D faces of healthy infants aged 3, 6, 9, and 12 months
