This nationwide retrospective cohort study evaluated 24,714 patients with diabetes undergoing colorectal cancer surgery across 887 Japanese facilities and found that the presence of at least one board‐certified diabetologist was associated with a 14% reduction in the risk of perioperative complications (adjusted RR 0.86, 95% CI: 0.77–0.96).
