We report a case of nasal myiasis caused by Sarcophaga spp., noted during hospitalization. A 74-year-old man was admitted with non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction. 구더기증(myiasis)은 파리의 유충(larvae of dipteran flies) 에 의해서 사람이나 동물에 발생하는 감염이다. 주로 따뜻하 고 습한 기후가 유지되는 여름 동안이나 아열대 지방에서 흔 히 발생하며, 특히 개발도상국에서 많은 환자들이 보고되었 다. 구더기증의 위험 인자는 노령, 알코올 중독, 신체마비나 거 동 불편, 정신 지체로 인한 위생이 나쁜 경우 등이 있다. 병원 감염성 구더기증은 질병이나 사고로 의식이 없고 심약해진 환 자에게서 주로 발생한다. 피부, 상처 부위, 눈이 주요 발병 부 위이고, 구강이나 코에서는 드물게 발생한다.

AbstractThe larval stages of the fly Cochliomyia hominivorax are responsible for myiasis, which primarily affects wounds. We report the case of a bed‐ridden patient with dementia who developed right nasal myiasis during his stay at Cayenne Hospital. Progression was favorable, but the nasal pyramid was partially destroyed.
