Nostocales of Jammu, J&K, India
Indian Journal of Applied Research, 2011Cyanobacteria are the pioneer oxygenic, gram negative photosynthetic organisms which constitute a large group of prokaryotes. They exhibit great diversity of form and functions. The present study was emphasized to study the distribution of Cyanobacterial flora of order Nostocales of Jammu.

Modelling life cycle and population dynamics of Nostocales (cyanobacteria)
Environmental Modelling & Software, 2011Cyanobacteria of the order Nostocales found in lakes in temperate regions are generally assumed to benefit from climate change. To predict their future development under varying environmental conditions, we developed a mathematical model that simulates their entire life cycle.

Certain observations on Scytonema stuposum (Kuetz.) Born. (Cyanophyta, Nostocales)
Hydrobiologia, 1979Some interesting cultural observations on Scytonema stuposum (Kuetz.) Born., were recorded. It was observed that frequently one or more terminal cells of a branch get cut off but they still remain attached over the sheath of the mother filament. Even in this condition such structures continue their growth and may become a multicellular body.

Safety evaluation of Nostoc flagelliforme (nostocales, cyanophyceae) as a potential food
Food and Chemical Toxicology, 1998The safety of the alga genus Nostoc flagelliforme Born. etFlah. as a human food source was evaluated in an oral acute toxicity study and in a 28-day oral subacute toxicity study using rats. In the acute toxicity study, the dried powder of N. flagelliforme was orally administered to male and female rats at a dose of 1250 mg/kg and 2500 mg/kg.

Weighted morphology: a new approach towards phylogenetic assessment of Nostocales (Cyanobacteria)
Protoplasma, 2014The classification of order Nostocales (Cyanobacteria) and inter relationships of morphologically similar taxa is still debatable due to ever changing morphological features. No attempt has been made to improve the morphological taxonomy despite the fact that it is the morphology that represents the totality of genes.
