Notation in vector analysis

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, 1998
After a brief comment on the work by Chen et al. (IEEE Transactions on Education, vol.41, no.1, p.61-9, February 1998), the author suggests a vector notation system for the electromagnetics community. The concepts of gradient, divergence and curl together with matrix operators are discussed.

APL as a notation for statistical analysis

Proceedings of the fourth international conference on APL - APL '72, 1972
This paper discusses the use of APL as a notation for statistical analysis and presents as a simple example the derivation of the chi-square statistic for independence in a two-way contingency table.

Complex Notation in Flutter Analysis

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1999
Flutter analysis in aircraft or bridge engineering has to include motion-induced aerodynamic forces. These forces are mathematically described in two equivalent ways, namely, by real number or complex number expressions. Accordingly, flutter analysis can be performed using either real or complex arithmetic.

Notational Analysis

2013
This diploma thesis is dealing with the statistical basics of scientific research in the field of Notational Analysis in soccer. Based on definitions of soccer specific terms the relevance and necessity of the systematic match analysis in soccer is pointed out afterwards.

Fundamental Notations in Analysis of Algorithms

2014
This chapter lays the foundation of the analysis of algorithms theory in terms of the big-oh, omega, and theta notations. It also covers the related topics of the little-oh and asymptotic functions. The chapter contains formal definitions of these notations, examples of how they are proved, and theorems connecting these notations to each other ...

Notational Analysis of Coaching Behaviour

2019
Throughout this book we have stressed the need to include objective match analysis within the coaching process that is described in Figure 1.1 . We have put forward the position that the primary function of coaching is to provide athletes with the ...

A framework for multi-notation requirements specification and analysis

Proceedings Fourth International Conference on Requirements Engineering. ICRE 2000. (Cat. No.98TB100219), 2002
Many organizations desire the convenience of using multiple notations within a requirements specification. Rather than using separate tools for each notation, we advocate combining the parts semantically for tool-based analysis. We describe a framework for integrating notations from four distinct categories, namely "models", "events", "actions, and ...

Baseline structure analysis of handwritten mathematics notation

Proceedings of Sixth International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition, 2002
The structure of mathematics notation is particularly difficult to recognize in handwritten notation because irregular symbol placements are common. We present an efficient and robust method of parsing handwritten and typeset mathematics notation without backtracking.
