Soil–plant relationships and tree distribution in old growth Nothofagus betuloides and Nothofagus pumilio forests of Tierra del Fuego

Geoderma, 2005
The evergreen Nothofagus betuloides and deciduous Nothofagus pumilio live close together in Tierra del Fuego. The fact that these two species rarely form mixed forests suggests that the soil factor can contribute to the distribution of two species on a local scale.

Radial growth responses to thinning and climate in native Nothofagus betuloides forests in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina

Dendrochronologia, 2019
Abstract Silvicultural treatments based on natural stand dynamics are crucial to the design and improvement of forest management. Dendrochronological methods can be used to evaluate the effect of silvicultural treatments, providing precise data concerning growth rates, releases and suppressions.

Effects of canopy gaps on forest floor vascular and non-vascular plant species composition and diversity in an uneven-agedNothofagus betuloidesforest in Tierra del Fuego, Chile

Community Ecology, 2012
Canopy gaps modify the environmental conditions available for plant growth in forests. Small canopy gaps are frequent in Nothofagus betuloides forests of Tierra del Fuego. Our objective was to study whether the forest floor vascular and non-vascular plant species composition and diversity are influenced by the occurrence of small-scale disturbances due

A dendroclimatic analysis of Nothofagus betuloides forests from Cordillera Darwin, Tierra del Fuego, Chile

2017
El estudio de la variabilidad climática en regiones remotas se dificulta por la escasez de series instrumentales largas y completas. Una alternativa es recurrir al uso de fuentes de información paleoambiental, tales como las series de anillos de crecimiento arbóreo.

Effect of steaming in the artificial drying of coigüe of Magallanes wood (Nothofagus betuloides)

2005
