Preformation, neoformation, and shoot structure in Nothofagus dombeyi (Nothofagaceae)
Canadian Journal of Botany, 2000Buds in different positions along trunk, main branch, secondary branch, and short branch parent shoots of young Nothofagus dombeyi (Mirb.) Blume trees were dissected, and the number of organs of their rudimentary shoots was counted. Bud contents were compared with the number of organs of sibling shoots developed in positions equivalent to those of the

A cryoprotective polypeptide isolated from Nothofagus dombeyi seedlings
Phytochemistry, 1986Abstract A comparative study of soluble proteins of N. dombeyi seedlings showed significant differences between electrophoretic patterns of cold-conditioned samples (48 hr at 0°) and control seedlings kept at 18°. A cold-induced polypeptide with apparent M r of 35 k was isolated.

Subtle precipitation differences yield adaptive adjustments in the mesic Nothofagus dombeyi
Forest Ecology and Management, 2020Abstract Climate change is impacting on natural systems and forests worldwide have suffered from massive mortality due to extreme droughts. That is the case of mesic Nothofagus dombeyi forests of northern Patagonia, whereas no climate-driven mortality was recorded towards drier areas.

Lipid changes in cold hardened leaves of Nothofagus dombeyi
Phytochemistry, 1990Abstract Changes in composition of various lipid fractions of leaves of the woody evergreen Nothofagus dombeyi hardened either under natural (at high and low altitude) or under laboratory conditions were determined. Frost hardiness of the leaves reached a maximum in the cold period (LT5O) - 5° in the lowest place and - 10.2° in the highest site and ...

Annual-shoot growth and branching patterns in Nothofagus dombeyi (Fagaceae)
Canadian Journal of Botany, 1998During the growing seasons 1994-1995 and 1995-1996, weekly measures of length and number of internodes and morphological observations were made on annual shoots of 11- to 21-year-old Nothofagus dombeyi (Mirb.) Blume trees growing in northern Patagonia, Argentina.

Die Markfleckigkeit des Coigue-Holzes [Nothofagus dombeyi (Mirb.) Oerst.]

Regeneration mode affects spatial genetic structure of Nothofagus dombeyi forests
Molecular Ecology, 2005AbstractDisturbance may generate population bottlenecks by reducing population size and the number of founders establishing a new colony. We tested the hypothesis that the scale of disturbance affects the levels of genetic diversity and the spatial distribution of genotypes in naturally regenerating stands of Nothofagus dombeyi, an evergreen angiosperm
