Since the first demonstration of Nox enzyme expression in the kidney in the early 1990s and the subsequent identification of Nox4, or RENOX, a decade later, it has become apparent that the Nox family of reactive oxygen species (ROS) generating enzymes plays an integral role in the normal physiological function of the kidney.

NOx and R-NOx: Effects on Drug Metabolism
Current Drug Metabolism, 2004A family of three nitric oxide synthase 1(NOS) isoforms produces nitric oxide (NO*) and L-citrulline via a stepwise oxidation of the guanidinium nitrogen of L-arginine. Akin to cytochrome P450 (P450)-catalyzed monoxygenations, the NOS reactions are dependent on both molecular oxygen and NADPH.

Through various processes the nitrogen oxides (NOX) interact with trace gases in the troposphere and stratosphere which do absorb in the spectral range relevant to the greenhouse effect (infrared wavelengths). The net effect is an enhancement of the greenhouse effect.

NOX-2S is a new member of the NOX family of NADPH oxidases
Gene, 2004A novel isoform of the NOX-2 subunit of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidase has been identified using expressed sequence tag (EST) database mining. The novel isoform, NOX-2S, is a splice variant of NOX-2 and includes a previously unidentified exon, mapped 6.4 kb downstream of exon III, and encodes an in-frame stop codon ...

Modelling of In-Line Low-NOX Calciners—NOX Emission
Chemical Engineering Research and Design, 2003The influence of the air combustion mixing into the main flow, operating conditions and fuel type on the level of NO emission in the in-line low-NO x calciners was investigated. The analysis was carried out using a heterogeneous mathematical model based on non-isothermal diffusion-reaction models for char combustion and limestone calcination.

This discussion was based on the background document “Review on modelling atmosphere-biosphere exchange of Ozone and Nitrogen oxides”, which reviews the processes contributing to biosphere-atmosphere exchange of O3 and NOx, including stomatal and non-stomatal exchange of O3 and NO, NO2.

Abstract The experience provides further evidence that cap-and-trade programs are cost-effective ways of reducing emissions, and that restructuring is creating a more competitive and innovative industry. The verdicts on further multi-state emissions trading and on attaining air quality standards are less compelling, however.

Relation of Typhoon, Global Warming, NOx, and NOx Elimination
Medical and Clinical Research: Open AccessMany typhoons are happening by the global warming. Typhoon killed many persons. We must stop global warming. Since 7 developed countries started NOx elimination in 1980, global warming started. Because compulsive NOx elimination by ammonia, nitrogen become scarer. CO2 assimilation is retarded. CO2 absorption decreased. Heat absorption decreased. Global
