Optimization Study on Nozzle Selection Based on the Influence of Nozzle Parameters on Jet Flow Field Structure

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Currently, the primary method for controlling red tides in the ocean involves spraying water solutions with special chemicals as solutes. High-pressure spraying results in the formation of typical jet structures.

Experimental Studies of Coaxial Jet Flows

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2007
An experimental study was carried out to investigate the effect of coaxial nozzle operating conditions on near-field jet plume development. The study was conducted in a low speed water tunnel as well as in a high-speed airflow nozzle test facility. Laser

High‐Performance Low‐Emissivity Paints Enabled by N‐Doped Poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) for Energy‐Efficient Buildings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a scalable and colored low‐emissivity (low‐e) paint achieved by spraying an ultrathin n‐doped poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) coating onto various colored substrates. The low‐e paint enhances thermal regulation by reducing mid‐infrared thermal emissivity to 0.19, thereby stabilizing indoor temperatures across diverse climates ...

Fragmentation of water-coal fuel droplets in the air flow

open access: yesИзвестия Томского политехнического университета: Инжиниринг георесурсов
Relevance. An analysis of the current state of the global energy agenda shows that the problem of anthropogenic impact on the planet’s atmosphere by thermal energy facilities is one of the most important for humanity.

Evaluation of Four Advanced Nozzle Concepts for Short Takeoff and Landing Performance [PDF]

open access: yes
Four advanced nozzle concepts were tested on a canard-wing fighter in the Langley 14- by 22-Foot Subsonic Tunnel. The four vectoring-nozzle concepts were as follows: (1) an axisymmetric nozzle (AXI); (2) an asymmetric, load balanced exhaust nozzle (ALBEN)

A review on nozzle wear in abrasive water jet machining application

open access: yes, 2016
This paper discusses a review on nozzle wear in abrasive water jet machining application. Wear of the nozzle becomes a major problem since it may affect the water jet machining performance.

Print‐and‐Plate Architected Electrodes for Electrochemical Transformations Under Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Typical flow cell electrodes are composed of stochastic porous carbon, limiting understanding of electrode structure‐performance relationships. This work describes an approach, termed “print‐and‐plate,” to prepare porous electrodes by direct ink writing followed by conformal metal coating.

Parametric investigation of single-expansion-ramp nozzles at Mach numbers from 0.60 to 1.20 [PDF]

open access: yes
An investigation was conducted in the Langley 16-Foot Transonic Tunnel to determine the effects of varying six nozzle geometric parameters on the internal and aeropropulsive performance characteristics of single-expansion-ramp nozzles. This investigation

Transition mechanisms in hypersonic wind-tunnel nozzles: a methodological approach using global linear stability analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Base-flow computations and stability analyses are performed for a hypersonic wind tunnel nozzle at a Mach number of 6. Isothermal and adiabatic wall boundary conditions are investigated, and moderate stagnation conditions are used to provide representative scenarios to study the transition in quiet hypersonic wind tunnel facilities.
