AbstractThe present study investigates the characteristics of nanofiber uniformity in a multi‐nozzle electrospinning system widely used to prepare nanofiber matrix. The effect of nozzle spacing on the electric field and nanofiber diameter uniformity is analyzed using a four‐nozzle electrospinning system.

The effect of inclination on impinging jets at small nozzle-to-plate spacing
International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2012Abstract The effect of inclination on heat transfer characteristics of an impinging slot air jet is experimentally investigated. The effects of inclination angle (0° ⩽ θ ⩽ 40°) and dimensionless pumping power on the Nusselt number are considered. The focus is on cases where the nozzle-to-plate spacing is equal to or less than one nozzle diameter (H ...

Effect of Exit Spacing in a Multiple-Jet Nozzle on Noise Levels at Audible Frequencies
Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene, 2011This work investigated the effect of exit spacing on audible noise levels generated by a multiple-jet nozzle, which replaces the single exit in a common nozzle with multiple smaller exits to reduce the risk of hearing damage. Sound measurements and 1/3-octave band analyses were performed for multiple-jet nozzles with varying exit diameters and exit ...

43rd AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference & Exhibit, 2007
The article presents the development of Thermal Barrier Coating (TBC) systems for nozzles used by Volvo Aero Corporation (VAC) for space engines and span from the Viking thrust chamber to the next generation nozzle extensions after NE2 for the Vulcain 2. The article presents the development work done to introduce TBC onto the Nozzle Extensions.

Nozzle optimization for space-based vehicles
35th Joint Propulsion Conference and Exhibit, 1999The method of designing the exhaust nozzle contour for optimum thrust by variational methods is restricted to nozzle lengths above a certain minimum. This is referred to as the region of valid computation of the control surface where a shock-free solution is attainable.

Two Space Shuttle solid propellant rocket motor (SRM) nozzles have been tested, both successfully. This paper summarizes the results of these tests. The SRM nozzle was designed and fabricated at the Wasatch Division of Thiokol Corporation. It is over 13 ft. long, has a 54.43 in. initial throat diameter, and weighs over 11 tons.

Nozzle Spacing on Sprayer Boom
Journal of Agricultural Engineering (India), 2007Agricultural sprayers are frequently used to spray pesticides on standing crops to avoid pest attack. Nozzles are placed on sprayer boom in such a way that the chemical is spread evenly over the plant canopy. The spacing between the nozzles on the boom of commonly used sprayers is quite speculative and not based on the type of nozzle, the discharge ...

This paper considers the effect of nozzle spacing on the pressure stresses at cylindrical pressure vessel shell and nozzle junctures. This consideration is based on a photoelastic test conducted to determine if the stress indices of Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code may be used in analysis of reactor vessel designs containing ...

The thrust measurement system research for combined nozzle in small space
Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control, 2018For measuring the thrust of combined nozzles in satellite thruster with a small space, the test method that the nozzle directly sprays on the load baffle is employed in this paper. The key problem is how to design the positions of 10 load baffles and how to construct the measurement system.
