Chaperone function of Arabidopsis NPR1
Plant Biotechnology Reports, 2020To cope with diverse environmental stresses, the sessile organisms of plants have evolved diverse defense molecules and signaling systems to transfer the stress signals into downstream metabolic cascades and induce the expression of defense-associated genes.

NPR1 in JazzSet with Pathogen Effectors
Trends in Plant Science, 2018NON-EXPRESSOR OF PATHOGENESIS-RELATED GENES 1 (NPR1) is a master regulator of salicylic acid (SA)-mediated systemic acquired resistance (SAR), a broad-spectrum disease resistance mechanism in plants. NPR1 controls approximately 90% of SA-dependent transcriptome in Arabidopsis.

Isolation and characterization of the rice NPR1 promoter [PDF]
NPR1 is a positive regulator of systemic acquired resistance in Arabidopsis and rice. Expression of the rice gene OsNPR1 is induced by salicylic acid (SA). To identify the region of the OsNPR1 promoter involved in response to SA, we carried out deletion mutagenesis of the region 1005 bp upstream of the OsNPR1 start codon.

Current Opinion in Plant Biology, 2004
Recent work has shown that the Arabidopsis NPR1 protein not only plays an essential role in salicylic acid (SA)-mediated systemic acquired resistance and rhizobacterium-triggered induced systemic resistance, but also is involved in crosstalk inhibition of jasmonic acid (JA)-mediated defense responses.

Targeting NPR1: a strategy went viral
Trends in Plant ScienceNon-expressor of pathogenesis-related 1 (NPR1) acts as master regulator of plant immunity by promoting salicylic acid (SA) signalling. Some bacterial and fungal pathogens target NPR1 to inhibit SA-mediated immunity. Recently, Zhang et al. and Liu et al.

Elicitor and Fusarium-induced expression of NPR1-like genes in banana
Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, 2008The non-expressor of pathogenesis-related genes 1 (NPR1) is an essential positive regulator of salicylic acid (SA)-induced pathogenesis-related (PR) gene expression and systemic acquired resistance (SAR). Two novel full length NPR1-like genes; MNPR1A and MNPR1B, were isolated from banana by application of the PCR and rapid amplification of cDNA ends ...
