Designing Polymer Nanocomposites for X‐Ray Shielding: Mechanisms, Architectures, and Scalable Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights advances in lightweight, lead‐free polymer nanocomposites for diagnostic X‐ray shielding. By linking filler chemistry, dispersion, architecture, and photon interaction mechanisms, it establishes structure–performance relationships guiding material design.

On NP - polyagroups

open access: yesMathematical Communications, 2001
In the present paper: 1) an NP--polyagroup is defined as a generalization of an $n-$group for $n\geq 3;$ and 2) NP--polyagroups of the type $(s,n-1)$ is described as algebras of the type $$ [$\,=; k>1,s\geq 1$ ].

Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

Comparing the contribution of visible-light irradiation, gold nanoparticles, and titania supports in photocatalytic nitroaromatic coupling and aromatic alcohol oxidation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Under visible-light irradiation, gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) supported by titania (TiO₂) nanofibers show excellent activity and high selectivity for both reductive coupling of nitroaromatics to corresponding azobenzene or azoxylbenzene and selective ...

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

The calcilytic agent NPS 2143 rectifies hypocalcemia in a mouse model with an activating calcium-sensing-receptor (CaSR) mutation:relevance to autosomal dominant hypocalcemia type 1 (ADH1) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Autosomal dominant hypocalcemia type 1 (ADH1) is caused by germline gain-of-function mutations of the calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) and may lead to symptomatic hypocalcemia, inappropriately low serum parathyroid hormone (PTH) concentrations and ...

The Science of Customer Satisfaction in the Retail Banking System- A Critical Comparison between the Two International Indexes: Net Promoter Score (NPS) and American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Emerging Trends in Marketing and Management, 2016
For customer-centered banks, customer satisfaction is both a goal and a marketing tool. Banks need to be especially concerned with their customer satisfaction level today because with the development of social media and online environments, the ...

HIROIMONO is NP-complete

open access: yesBRICS Report Series, 2007
In a Hiroimono puzzle, one must collect a set of stones from a square grid, moving along grid lines, picking up stones as one encounters them, and changing direction only when one picks up a stone. We show that deciding the solvability of such puzzles is NP-complete.
