Crowdsensing Simulation Using ns-3
2013A crowdsensing network is a sensor network in which sensors are users that sense the environment and send the obtained data using, for instance, their smartphones. The performance of such sensor networks depends heavily on the mobility of the users and their willingness to collaborate.

Wireless Networks, 2020
Optical fiber access systems are one of the driving forces behind the success of the Internet. Time- and wavelength-division multiplexing passive optical network (TWDM-PON) is regarded as the key technology for future Internet access networks. In this paper, we propose an ITU TWDM-PON module for the ns-3 network simulator and describe its concept and ...

Ns-3 based WiMAX emulation system
2014 IEEE Asia Pacific Conference on Wireless and Mobile, 2014Evaluating a system in real-time to test its performance has always been a challenging task. Although real-world wireless testbeds offer great value, on the other hand they are expensive in terms of hardware cost and very hard to maintain. Network simulations are synthetic environments for running representations of mathematical models.

Traffic Differentiation and Multiqueue Networking in ns-3
Proceedings of the Workshop on ns-3 - 2017 WNS3, 2017The Linux networking subsystem provides fundamental abstraction to send and receive packets or to perform other operations. At socket layer, the user can set the socket priority used by the networking stack to prioritise the packets. The kernel sends a high priority packet before a low priority packet but the exact behaviour depends on the traffic ...

A TCP CUBIC implementation in ns-3
Proceedings of the 2014 Workshop on ns-3, 2014To allow network researchers to simulate currently deployed networks, ns-3 needs to incorporate as many standard networking technologies as possible. One such technology is TCP CUBIC, the default TCP congestion control algorithm in the Linux kernel and one of the most widely deployed variants of TCP.

Common TCP Evaluation Suite for ns-3
Proceedings of the Workshop on ns-3 - 2017 WNS3, 2017This paper presents the design and implementation of a Common TCP Evaluation Suite for ns-3. The proposed evaluation suite uses Tmix to generate realistic synthetic TCP traffic, and is designed in line with the recommendations from Internet Congestion Control Research Group (ICCRG).

OFDMA Extension of NS-3 WiMAX Module
2010 Fourth UKSim European Symposium on Computer Modeling and Simulation, 2010An OFDMA TDD model extension of the NS-3 WiMAX module was created. The necessary background in 802.16 WiMAX standards is presented. Additions supporting OFDMA are presented along with the challenges encountered during development. The addition of an extra dimension of sub-channels required new data structures to manage allocations.

Cognitive network validation using NS-3
IEEE Colombian Conference on Communication and Computing (IEEE COLCOM 2015), 2015The demand of radio-electric spectrum in cities with high density of users is growing every day. There are many initiatives that aim to meet this demand, one of these initiatives is to insert into wireless communication devices algorithms that alternate their band operation through technology called cognitive radios to allow users to maintain ...
