A Multi-Objective Optimization Model Using Improved NSGA-II for Optimizing Metal Mines Production Process

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Production process optimization is an indispensable step in industrial production. The optimization of the metal mines production process (MMPP) can increase production efficiency and thus promote the utilization rate of the metal mineral resources in ...

Optimization of an appointment scheduling problem for healthcare systems based on the quality of fairness service using whale optimization algorithm and NSGA-II

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Effective appointment scheduling (EAS) is essential for the quality and patient satisfaction in hospital management. Healthcare schedulers typically refer patients to a suitable period of service before the admission call closes. The appointment date can

Improved NSGA-II algorithms for multi-objective biomarker discovery

open access: yesBioinformatics, 2022
AbstractMotivationIn modern translational research, the development of biomarkers heavily relies on use of omics technologies, but implementations with basic data mining algorithms frequently lead to false positives. Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA2) is an extremely effective algorithm for biomarker discovery but has been rarely ...

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.

Computing the set of Epsilon-efficient solutions in multiobjective space mission design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this work, we consider multiobjective space mission design problems. We will start from the need, from a practical point of view, to consider in addition to the (Pareto) optimal solutions also nearly optimal ones.
