Presentation, care, and outcomes of patients with NSTEMI according to World Bank country income classification: the ACVC-EAPCI EORP NSTEMI Registry of the European Society of Cardiology [PDF]
BACKGROUND: The majority of NSTEMI burden resides outside high-income countries (HICs). We describe presentation, care and outcomes of NSTEMI by country income classification. METHODS: Prospective cohort study including 2947 patients with NSTEMI from 287

Aims Women have historically been disadvantaged in terms of care and outcomes for non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). We describe patterns of presentation, care, and outcomes for NSTEMI by sex in a contemporary and geographically ...

Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) refers to any constellation of clinical symptoms that are compatible with acute myocardial ischemia. ACS is divided into ST- elevated myocardial infarction (STEMI), non-ST elevated myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), and unstable angina (UA).

PCI in unstable angina and NSTEMI
2020The incidence and mortality of non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) is high among all acute coronary syndromes. The NSTEMI, unlike ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) necessitates an invasive treatment, as thrombolytics are contraindicated.

Adherence to NSTEMI Guidelines in the Emergency Department
Critical Pathways in Cardiology: A Journal of Evidence-Based Medicine, 2019Background: Adherence to guidelines for the initial treatment of ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction has been thoroughly studied, whereas the study of emergency department (ED) adherence to guidelines for Non–ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction-Acute Coronary Syndrome (NSTEMI-ACS) has been much scarcer.

Increasing clarity for an early invasive strategy in NSTEMI
Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, 2020Key Points An early invasive strategy for NSTEMI resulted in lower MACE and recurrent ischemia compared with a delayed strategy. The significant risk of NSTEMI is affirmed, which warrants earlier and more directed invasive treatment. Future investigations need to confirm these findings in a randomized trial in high‐risk patients.
