State‐of‐the‐art in food safety: The potential of CRISPR/Cas‐based lateral flow assay technology in the field of food analysis

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 155-171, April 2025.
The CRISPR‐LFA merges the CRISPR/Cas system with a LFA strip. This approach utilizes the programmability and specificity of the CRISPR/Cas system for detecting various nucleic acid molecules. Abstract Food safety is essential for public health, with key hazards including microbial and chemical contamination and pesticide residues.

Multi-gene phylogeny and morphological characters reveal seven new species of Micropsalliota (Agaricales, Agaricaceae) from southern China, with an updated key for the species distributed in China

open access: yesMycology
Species of Micropsalliota generally grow in the tropics and are characterised by small, slender basidiomes, brown basidiospores, and cheilocystidia that vary in shape with capitate or subcapitate apex, and pigmented pileipellis.

Reinstatement of the fission yeast species Schizosaccharomyces versatilis Wickerham et Duprat, a sibling species of Schizosaccharomyces japonicus

open access: yesYeast, Volume 41, Issue 3, Page 108-127, March 2024.
The taxonomic status of Schizosaccharomyces japonicus and Schizosaccharomyces versatilis was reassessed. An almost complete reproductive barrier was detected between the two species. Gapless genomes of the type strains of S. japonicus and S. versatilis are reported here.

A discussion on the genus Fomitiporella (Hymenochaetaceae, Hymenochaetales) and first record of F. americana from southern South America

open access: yesMycoKeys, 2018
Fomitiporella has traditionally been delimited based on the gross morphology of the basidiomes, hyphal structure and basdiospores. Recently, phylogenetic studies supported the incorporation of an extensive number of species within the genus.
