The effect of nuchal cord on nuchal translucency measurement at 10–14 weeks
Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology, 1998AbstractThe aim of this study was to determine the incidence of nuchal cord and its possible effect on nuchal translucency thickness at 10–14 weeks' gestation. Out of 316 consecutive pregnancies in which nuchal translucency thickness was measured transabdominally, 26 (8.23%) fetuses were shown to have the umbilical cord around the neck.

A Method for Semi-Automatic Nuchal Translucency Thickness Measurement
2014Increased nuchal translucency (NT) thickness is associated with major abnormalities of the heart, great arteries and a wide range of genetic syndromes. NT thickness is one of the most important ultrasound markers in fetal diseases screening. To find an applicable method that accurately detects NT, we use an algorithm based on modified level set for ...

Semi‐automated adjusted measurement of nuchal translucency: feasibility and reproducibility
Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2011AbstractObjectiveThe variability of nuchal translucency thickness (NT) measurements in the first trimester appears to be associated in part with caliper placement. Methods for obtaining semi‐automated adjusted measurements (SAAMs) can provide several NT values (maximum, minimum, mean and median) automatically within a manually set frame in the zone of ...

The effect of fetal neck position on nuchal translucency measurement
BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 1998Objective To determine the influence of the position of the fetal neck on nuchal translucency measurement.Design A prospective cross‐sectional study.Population One hundred and ninety‐six. Methods Nuchal translucency was measured in the mid‐sagittal plane, with the fetal neck in the flexed, neutral and extended positions ...

Perinatal outcome in fetuses with extremely large nuchal translucency measurement
Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 2009Background: Studies have suggested that an entirely normal outcome is likely when the nuchal translucency (NT) measurement is very large and the karyotype, morphology and echocardiography scans are normal. Recently this has been questioned as it is based on very small numbers.Aim: Assess the outcome of pregnancies with an NT measurement of 6.5 mm or ...

Is nuchal translucency measurement feasible in early pregnancy?
HippokratiaTo investigate whether early nuchal translucency measurement at 7+0 to 9+0 weeks (NT7-9w) is feasible, obtain normal values for different crown-rump lengths (CRL) in the above weeks and create percentile tables.A prospective study was conducted in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of the University Hospital of Ioannina, including data from women
