Nuclear and Particle Physics

Physics Bulletin, 1970
E B Paul Amsterdam: North-Holland 1969 pp xiv + 494 price £5 17s The fields of nuclear and particle physics have developed so extensively in the past 25 years that one is faced with a dilemma when writing a textbook on the subject. On the one hand, a teacher of the subject will wish to instruct, if possible, from first principles and, on the other ...

Nuclear physics in particle therapy: a review [PDF]

open access: possibleReports on Progress in Physics, 2016
Charged particle therapy has been largely driven and influenced by nuclear physics. The increase in energy deposition density along the ion path in the body allows reducing the dose to normal tissues during radiotherapy compared to photons. Clinical results of particle therapy support the physical rationale for this treatment, but the method remains ...

Supersymmetry in nuclear and particle physics

Nuclear Physics A, 1982
Abstract The role of supersymmetries in physics is discussed. These symmetries change bosons into fermions and viceversa. The first experimentally observed example of a dynamic supersymmetry is presented. This example occurs in the spectra of nuclei in the Os-Pt region.
