Future Accelerators (?)

open access: yes, 2003
I describe the future accelerator facilities that are currently foreseen for electroweak scale physics, neutrino physics, and nuclear structure. I will explore the physics justification for these machines, and suggest how the case for future accelerators

Symmetry and Supersymmetry in Nuclear Pairing: Exact Solutions

open access: yes, 2010
Pairing plays a crucial role in nuclear spectra and attempts to describe it has a long history in nuclear physics. The limiting case in which all single particle states are degenerate, but with different s-wave pairing strengths was only recently solved.

Double Beta Decay, Majorana Neutrinos, and Neutrino Mass [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The theoretical and experimental issues relevant to neutrinoless double-beta decay are reviewed. The impact that a direct observation of this exotic process would have on elementary particle physics, nuclear physics, astrophysics and cosmology is ...

Meson Masses in Nuclear Matter [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev.Lett. 78 (1997) 1010-1013, 1996
Mass shifts $\Delta m$ of particles in nuclear matter relative to their vacuum values are considered. A general formula relating $\Delta m(E)$ ($E$ is the particle energy) to the real part of the forward particle-nucleon scattering amplitude ${\rm Re} f(E)$ is presented and its applicability domain is formulated.

Shell Structure of Exotic Nuclei

open access: yes, 2006
Theoretical predictions and experimental discoveries for neutron-rich, short-lived nuclei far from stability indicate that the familiar concept of nucleonic shell structure should be considered as less robust than previously thought. The notion of single-

Color Transparency - Color Coherent Effects in Nuclear Physics [PDF]

open access: yesAIPConf.Proc.412:621-627,1997, 1997
Efforts to observe color transparency in the reactions: (e,e'p), (p,pp) and coherent nuclear diffractive dissociation of pions into two jets are reviewed.

Probing effective nucleon-nucleon interaction at band termination

open access: yes, 2006
Low-energy nuclear structure is not sensitive enough to resolve fine details of nucleon-nucleon (NN) interaction. Insensitivity of infrared physics to the details of short-range strong interaction allows for consistent, free of ultraviolet divergences ...

Nuclear Equation of State from ground and collective excited state properties of nuclei [PDF]

open access: yesProgress in Particle and Nuclear Physics 101 (2018) 96-176, 2018
This contribution reviews the present status on the available constraints to the nuclear equation of state (EoS) around saturation density from nuclear structure calculations on ground and collective excited state properties of atomic nuclei. It concentrates on predictions based on self-consistent mean-field calculations, which can be considered as an ...
