Heterogeneity of iridoid biosynthesis in catmints: Molecular background in a phylogenetic context

Evolutionary gains and losses of key biosynthetic genes likely resulting from multiple independent evolutionary events explain why certain Nepeta (catnip) species produce both the active, cat‐attracting nepetalactones and sugar‐bound iridoids, while others make only the sugar‐bound forms, and some have lost iridoid production entirely.

Proximity to War: The Stock Market Response to the Russian Invasion of Ukraine

Abstract We identify a “proximity penalty” in the stock market response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine: the closer countries are to Ukraine, the lower their equity returns in a four‐week window around the start of the war. This result holds even at the firm level within Ukraine's neighbors. Trade linkages explain two‐thirds of the proximity penalty.

Abstract Recently developed secondary nanobodies or single‐domain antibodies present a powerful tool for immunodetection. Unlike traditional antibodies, their monovalence enables pre‐association with primary antibodies prior to sample staining, presenting a straightforward affinity‐based antibody labelling solution.
