Nuclear level densities in Casten’s triangle

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2002
Level density parameters of the back‐shifted Fermi gas and of the constant temperature model were determined for 298 nuclei with a least squares fit to low energy levels and neutron resonances. The results are systematized with the valence correlation scheme and related to Casten’s triangle.

Nuclear Level Densities in Astrophysics

1980
The use of statistical nuclear level densities in astrophysics is briefly reviewed. Particular attention is given to the role of nuclear level density formulae in cross-section calculations for nucleosynthesis studies and to the effects of an assumed Fermi-gas model upon the properties of matter at very high temperature. The use of β-strength functions

Phenomenological Approach to Nuclear Level Densities

1980
The topic of nuclear level densities is considered from the standpoint of applications. A phenomenological approach is described in which relevant parameters are derived from known experimental quantities. Parameter systematics have been determined which may be used for interpolation where experimental information is not available.
