Relativistic mean-field hadronic models under nuclear matter constraints [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background: The microscopic composition and properties of infinite hadronic matter at a wide range of densities and temperatures have been subjects of intense investigation for decades.

Establishment and optimization of the two‐step induction system for generating primordial germ cell‐like cells from chicken embryonic stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study optimizes a two‐step induction system to generate PGCLCs from chicken ESCs. The induced cells express germline markers and migrate to gonads in ovo, offering a novel approach for avian genetic resource conservation. Primordial germ cells (PGCs) are the progenitor cells of sperm and eggs.

Cluster virial expansion for quark and nuclear matter

open access: yes, 2015
We employ the $\Phi-$ derivable approach to many particle systems with strong correlations that can lead to the formation of bound states (clusters) of different size.

The impact of Hnrnpl deficiency on transcriptional patterns of developing muscle cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We performed nanopore whole‐transcriptome sequencing comparing RNA from Hnrnpl‐knockdown versus control C2C12 myoblasts to investigate the contributions of Hnrnpl to muscle development. Our results indicate that Hnrnpl regulates the expression of genes involved with Notch signaling and skeletal muscle, particularly splicing patterns of specific muscle ...

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Optical properties of nuclear matter

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Bureau of Standards Section A: Physics and Chemistry, 1976
The index of refraction and absorptive properties are estimated in nuclear matter consisting of protons and neutrons and in nuclear matter charge neutralized by electrons.

Nuclear positioning: A matter of life [PDF]

open access: yesSeminars in Cell & Developmental Biology, 2018
Cell organization, and in particular how organelles are distributed in the cell, is often used by physio-pathologists to visually identify cell types in an organism. Behind this simple fact, it suggests that the positioning of sub-cellular structures is not occurring randomly but by active manners.
