Magnetic frustration induced large magnetocaloric effect in the absence of long range magnetic order
We have synthesized a new intermetallic compound Ho2Ni0.95Si2.95 in a single phase with a defect crystal structure. The magnetic ground state of this material found to be highly frustrated without any long range order or glassy feature as investigated ...

Tensile strength prediction of orthogonal CFRP under high intensity CW laser irradiation
Considering the two most important factors, delamination and tensile strength temperature dependence, a tensile strength prediction model for orthogonal carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) under continuous wave (CW) laser irradiation is proposed.

Measurement of the 52Fe mass via the precise proton-decay energy of 53Com
The proton decay of 53Com(3174.1 keV; 19/2−) was investigated via the fragmentation of a 58Ni primary beam. The proton-decay energy was determined with an improved precision to be 1558(8) keV.

In this paper, a method to obtain the CuInGaSe2 (CIGS) absorber layer with an appropriate selenium content is put forward, in which a Se-rich target is used to deposit a CIGS thin-film and this film is annealed in a Se-free inert atmosphere.

Soliton matter as a model of dense nuclear matter [PDF]
We employ the hybrid soliton model of the nucleon consisting of a topological meson field and deeply bound quarks to investigate the behavior of the quarks in soliton matter as a function of density. To organize the calculation, we place the solitons on a spatial lattice.

Collective excitations of nuclear matter [PDF]
Abstract A study of the collective motions of nuclear matter has been made. We first give a purely classical macroscopic description of hydrodynamic waves in nuclear matter, and suggest some experimental consequences of their excitation. Next a quantum mechanical study of the collective eigenstates of nuclear matter is taken up. The starting point of

A compact and stable diagnostic system is established using Raman scattering to measure parameters such as major species concentration and temperature in the combustion flow field. Despite an engine’s huge vibration, the prototype works stably and has an

Neutron star is an important object for us to verify the equation of state of hadronic matter. For a specific choice of equations of state, mass and radius of a neutron star are determined, for which there are constraints from observations.
