Nuclear physics with OBELIX

Nuclear Physics A, 1993
Abstract Recent experimental results in antinucleon-nucleus interaction obtained by the OBELIX collaboration at LEAR are presented. Preliminary results concerning the total antineutron-nucleus annihilation cross section at low energy are reported.

Resonances in nuclear physics

Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2001
Abstract Some aspects of resonances in nuclear physics are discussed. Their properties are studied and it is shown how to obtain them numerically in realistic situations for experimental detection. Particular attention is given to resonances in non-spherical potentials that represent deformed exotic nuclei, and their trajectories in the complex ...

Supersymmetry in nuclear physics

Physica D: Nonlinear Phenomena, 1985
Abstract Applications of supersymmetry considerations to problems in nuclear physics are briefly reviewed. A few, selected, examples are discussed, and it is shown that experimental evidence supports the occurrence of dynamic supersymmetries in nuclear spectra.

Nuclear physics and cosmology

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2014
There are important aspects of Cosmology, the scientific study of the large scale properties of the universe as a whole, for which nuclear physics can provide insights. Here, we will focus on Standard Big-Bang Nucleosynthesis and we refer to the previous edition of the School [1] for the aspects concerning the variations of constants in nuclear cosmo ...

Nuclear Physics and Nuclear Medicine

2007
In this chapter we consider some of the properties of radioactive nuclei and their use for medical imaging and for cancer therapy. We begin by reviewing different mechanisms of radioactive decay, such as alpha, beta, and gamma decay, internal conversion, electron capture, and positron emission.

Particle Physics, Nuclear Physics and Nuclear Energy

2011
Particle physics is a frontier subject which studies the smallest constituents of matter and the laws governing their interactions. It plays an important role in studying the origin and evolution of the universe and the formation and evolution of the celestial bodies.

Nuclear Physics for Nuclear Fusion

Fusion Science and Technology, 2002
The nuclear fusion data for deuteron-triton resonance near 100 keV are found to be consistent with the selective resonant tunneling model. The feature of this selective resonant tunneling is the selectivity. It selects not only the energy level, but also the damping rate (nuclear reaction rate).
