Investigation of 99Mo potential production via UO2SO4 liquid target irradiation in a 5 MW nuclear research reactor

open access: yesNukleonika, 2017
The activation method for 99Mo production in comparison to fissionable target irradiation in research reactors is less preferable. Therefore, 99Mo yield using UO2SO4 samples was theoretically investigated.

The breed and burn nuclear reactor: A chronological, conceptual, and technological review

open access: yes, 2018
Currently about 11% of the world's energy is produced in nuclear power plants; this implies the processing of uranium in order to enrich it to be suitable for “burning” in a nuclear reactor.

Cu‐Based MOF/TiO2 Composite Nanomaterials for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation and the Role of Copper

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HKUST‐1/TiO2 composite materials show a very high photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate which increases as a function of the irradiation time until reaching a plateau and even surpasses the performance of the 1%Pt/TiO2 material after three photocatalytic cycles.

Effect of Heat Exchange Area Margins on Thermal Characteristics of the Heat Exchange System in the Pressurized Water Test Loop during Fuel Assembly Irradiation

open access: yesEnergies
The performance of heat exchangers in the pressurized water test loop is a critical factor in ensuring the achievement of irradiation parameters for fuel assemblies and the safety of experimental operations. The effect of the heat exchange area margin on

Crossover Effects of Transition‐Metal Ions on Lithium‐Metal Anode in Localized High Concentration Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study highlights the impact of transition‐metal (TM) ions (Ni2⁺, Mn2⁺, Co2⁺) on the performance of lithium‐metal anode in localized high‐concentration electrolytes. Mn2⁺ and Co2⁺ destabilize SEI and CEI layers, causing capacity fade and overpotential, while Ni2⁺ shows minimal effects. These findings underscore the need for electrolyte optimization

Review of Reactor Antineutrino Experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
As discussed elsewhere, the measurement of a non-zero value for $\theta_{13}$ would open up a wide range of possibilities to explore CP-violation and the mass hierarchy. Experimental methods to measure currently the unknown mixing angle $\theta_{13}$ include accelerator searches for the $\nu_{e}$ appearance and precise measurements of reactor ...

Detecting Dark Photon with Reactor Neutrino Experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We propose to search for light $U(1)$ dark photons, $A'$, produced via kinetically mixing with ordinary photons via the Compton-like process, $\gamma e^- \rightarrow A' e^-$, in a nuclear reactor and detected by their interactions with the material in ...

Ultrafast Room‐Temperature Nanofabrication via Ozone‐Based Gas‐Phase Metal‐Assisted Chemical Etching for High‐Performance Silicon Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ozone‐based gas‐phase metal‐assisted chemical etching enables unprecedented room‐temperature fabrication of high‐quality silicon nanowires. The superior oxidation potential of O3 drives rapid vertical etching (1 µm min−1) while maintaining exceptional structural integrity. The pristine nanowire surfaces enable high‐performance core‐shell photodetectors
