Heat exchange capability of main heat exchangers in pressurized water test loop under low parameter conditions during fuel assembly irradiation

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
The steady-state irradiation test for fuel assemblies is a key aspect of nuclear reactor fuel development, for revealing irradiation resistance and verifying the safety of new fuel assemblies before engineering application.

CVD Grown Hybrid MoSe2–WSe2 Lateral/Vertical Heterostructures With Strong Interlayer Exciton Emission

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable bottom‐up CVD methodology, based on liquid transition metal salt precursors, is presented for the controlled growth of two high‐quality MoSe2–WSe2 heterostructures (HSs): purely lateral (HS I) and hybrid lateral/vertical (HS II), by simply adjusting precursor concentration.

Cenosphere-Based 177Lu-Aluminosilicate Microspheres as a Theranostic β-Emitter for Selective Internal Radiation Therapy of Hepatic Tumors

open access: yesScience and Technology of Nuclear Installations
The narrow fraction of the cenospheres of coal fly ash (30−50 μm; glass phase ∼ 90 wt. %) was used for the preparation of β-emitting 177Lu-bearing aluminosilicate microspheres. Two methods of chemical modification to encapsulate 177Lu3+ in the cenosphere’

Research on Smart Handling Robot for Nuclear Reactor

open access: yesDEStech Transactions on Social Science, Education and Human Science, 2019
Smart handling is more and more important to the core of nuclear power plant (NPP)- nuclear reactor. Refueling of nuclear fuel was mainly relied on NPP operators in the past. The potential risk always exists. The smart handling robot is developed so as to reduce the related risk.

Hydrophobic MFI‐Type Zeolites via Alkali‐Cation‐Induced Defect Healing: Implications for Adsorbent and Catalyst Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Sub‐stoichiometric amounts of Na+ or K+ enhance defect healing during Silicalite‐1 (MFI) and TS‐1 calcination by promoting Si–O–Si annealing and healing framework vacancies. The resulting defect‐free zeolites are more hydrophobic and show improved butanol/water separation and improved activity and selectivity in the epoxidation of 1‐hexene, offering a ...

Advancement of a Delayed Gamma Dosimeter for Spent Nuclear Fuel Assay [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Research and Applications
An in-depth fuel assay is crucial for spent nuclear fuel management. Spent fuels with high radiation dose levels also require an appropriate dosimeter. A widely used detector for nuclear radiation dosimetry is the Geiger-Muller detector. Pulses from this

Gold‐Stabilized Copper Enables Anodic Hydrogen Evolution for Ultralow‐Voltage CO‐to‐Ethylene Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Gold‐stabilized copper suppresses hydroxide‐driven deactivation during anodic hydrogen evolution from furfural. Pairing this low‐potential anode with CO‐to‐ethylene electroreduction enables sub‐1 V operation at 400 mA cm−2, high single‐pass CO conversion, and co‐production of ethylene, furoic acid, and a separate hydrogen stream.
