Structure and Solution Behavior of Rare‐Earth‐Metal Complexes with Tripodal N‐Donor Ligands
Rare‐earth‐metal complexes (Ln=Y, La, Ce, Sm and Lu) of tripodal N‐donor ligands respecting the CHON principle have been synthetized and characterized. The selectivity of the ligands through the lanthanide cations was investigated and related to their donor strength.

QUARK MEAN-FIELD THEORY AND CONSISTENCY WITH NUCLEAR-MATTER
1/N(c) expansion in QCD (with N(c) the number of colors) suggests using a potential from meson sector (e.g., Richardson) for baryons. For light quarks a sigma-field has to be introduced to ensure chiral symmetry breaking (chi-SB).

Homotopy of rational maps and the quantization of Skyrmions [PDF]
The Skyrme model is a classical field theory which models the strong interaction between atomic nuclei. It has to be quantized in order to compare it to nuclear physics.

Efferent projections of Nps‐expressing neurons in the parabrachial region
We mapped the efferent projections of neuropeptide S (NPS) neurons in the parabrachial nucleus and peri‐locus coeruleus using a genetic approach combined with a neural network algorithm (BoutonNet). NPS neurons project via a periventricular and ventral pathway and target the paraventricular nucleus of the thalamus, bed nucleus of the stria terminalis ...

Quantization of Skyrmions [PDF]
The Skyrme model is a nonlinear classical field theory which models the strong interaction between atomic nuclei. In order to compare the predictions of the Skyrme model with nuclear physics, it has to be quantized. We show, summarizing earlier work, how

Screening Effects in Superfluid Nuclear and Neutron Matter within Brueckner Theory
8 pages, 6 Postscript figures - PTHEffects of medium polarization are studied for $^1S_0$ pairing in neutron and nuclear matter. The screening potential is calculated in the RPA limit, suitably renormalized to cure the low density mechanical instability ...

Nuclear theory and nuclear experiment e-print archives : Science Citation Index - based analysis [PDF]
The paper is based upon a study on the citations in the Science Citation Index (1992-2002) to the e-print archives of Los Alamos National Laboratory on the subject categories 'nucl-th' (nuclear theory) and 'nucl-ex' (nuclear experiment).

Chiral symmetry and quantum hadro-dynamics
Using the linear sigma model, we study the evolutions of the quark condensate and of the nucleon mass in the nuclear medium. Our formulation of the model allows the inclusion of both pion and scalar-isoscalar degrees of freedom.

Critical fluctuations of the quark density in nuclei
We study the static scalar susceptibility of the nuclear medium, i.e., the change of the quark condensate for a small modification of the quark mass.In the linear sigma model it is linked to the in-medium sigma propagator.Near the critical density for ...

The role of the Roper in chiral perturbation theory
We include the Roper excitation of the nucleon in a version of heavy-baryon chiral perturbation theory recently developed for energies around the delta resonance. We find significant improvement in the P(11) channel. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V.
