Quantitative Photo‐Reforming of Biomass to CO Spurred by In Situ Protonation of Carbon Dioxide Radical Anions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A “two‐in‐one” photoreduction strategy enabled by electron‐rich yolk Cd species both remote from and adjacent to sulfur vacancies is delivered to be ultraselective for the reduction of O2 and •CO2− in situ formed on the shell Bi2S3 composition (hole) by water oxidation and oxidative C–C cleavage of various biomass organic acids, furnishing CO with > 99%

Liposomal Delivery of L‐2‐Hydroxyglutarate for Targeting Epigenetic Dysregulation in Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Osteoarthritis involves cartilage degeneration, inflammation, and epigenetic dysregulation. A liposomal formulation of the TET1 inhibitor L‐2‐hydroxyglutarate to overcome rapid joint clearance was developed. The formulation showed good physicochemical properties, reduced inflammatory and catabolic gene expression in chondrocytes, and alleviated ...

Metal‐free Hydrogen Generation from Seawater and Silicon Waste: A Circular Approach

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Hydrogen was rapidly generated directly from untreated seawater and polymeric Si waste without any transition metal catalyst. The in situ generated polymeric cross‐linked Si resin was completely depolymerized under mild conditions into chloro‐silane monomers.

Disposal of spent nuclear fuel and high-level waste: design and technical/economic analysis

open access: yes, 1987
An economic model for the back end of the nuclear fuel cycle was developed for a once-through cycle, a standard reprocessing cycle, and a reprocessing cycle with fractionation of cesium and strontium.
