Further follow up of mortality and incidence of cancer in men from the United Kingdom who participated in the United Kingdom's atmospheric nuclear weapon tests and experimental programmes.

open access: yesBritish medical journal, 1988
OBJECTIVES--To study the long term effects of participation in the United Kingdom's atmospheric nuclear weapon tests and experimental programmes and to test hypotheses generated by an earlier report, including the possibility that participation in tests ...

Cyclo‐N9−: a Novel 5/6 Fused Polynitrogen Anion for High Energy Density Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel 5/6 fused polynitrogen anion, cyclo‐N9−, which is assembled with four cations to form energetic salts. The computational results reveal that the energy densities and detonation performances of these systems are far superior, even surpassing those of CL‐20.

Measuring Very Low Radiation Doses in PTFE for Nuclear Forensic Enrichment Reconstruction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Every country that has made nuclear weapons has used uranium enrichment. Despite the centrality of this technology to international security, there is still no reliable physical marker of past enrichment that can be used to perform forensic verification of historically produced weapons.

Mitigating Strain Localization via Stabilized Phase Boundaries for Strengthening Multi‐Principal Element Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Strain localization along phase or grain boundaries leads to crack initiation typical of alloys. In multi‐principal element alloys, the enamel‐like microstructure is stabilized by phase boundaries. This facilitates trans‐phase migration of semi‐atomic surfaces and provides sufficient plastic space for dislocation‐mediated deformation.

Targeted DNA Nanomachine Enables Specific miRNA‐Responsive Singlet Oxygen Amplification for Precise Cutaneous Squamous Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An intelligent DNA nanomachine based on DNA tetrahedron is proposed, incorporated with aptamer and specific miRNA‐responsive hairpin catalytic assembly (HCA), for precise therapy of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) in mice, with barely systemic toxicity and inflammation.
