Diosgenin Alleviates Age‐Related Sarcopenia by Promoting Satellite Cell Proliferation and Myogenic Differentiation via Activation of the SIRT1/PGC‐1α Signaling Pathway

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 8, August 2026.
As a critical bioactive component of Polygonatum sibiricum, diosgenin improves age‐related declines in skeletal muscle mass and function by activating the SIRT1/PGC‐1α pathway, upregulating the expression of the myokine METRNL and IGF‐1, and promoting satellite cell proliferation and myogenic differentiation.

A noncanonical role for Jagged1 in endothelial mechanotransduction

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 15, Page 4604-4623, August 2026.
The Notch signaling pathway plays a crucial role in regulating endothelial biology. Notch signaling is sensitive to hemodynamic forces and governs mechanically driven cardiovascular development, physiology, and remodeling. This study reveals a non‐canonical role for the Notch ligand Jagged1 in endothelial mechanotransduction.

EMF2 deficiency disrupts epigenetic and chromatin organization landscapes, blocking root regeneration competence in Arabidopsis

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 4, Page 1792-1810, August 2026.
EMF2 mutation alters transcriptomic profiles in Arabidopsis calli while retaining responsiveness during root induction. Summary Plant de novo organogenesis depends on callus formation, yet the epigenetic mechanisms governing organ regeneration remain poorly understood.

Protein kinase Cδ and pharmacomechanical coupling: Re‐envisioning cerebral vascular control

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 15, Page 6324-6347, 1 August 2026.
Abstract figure legend Top, G‐protein coupled receptors trigger electromechanical and pharmacomechanical coupling, the latter via signal transduction pathways that inhibit myosin light chain phosphatase. Middle, the relative contribution of electromechanical and pharmacomechanical coupling varies with the concentration and the vessel area to which ...

Safety and efficacy of a feed additive consisting of nicarbazin (NICACOX®) for chickens for fattening and chickens reared for laying (Huvepharma N.V.)

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, EFSA was asked to deliver a scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of a feed additive consisting of nicarbazin (NICACOX®) as a coccidiostat for chickens for fattening and chickens reared for laying.
