Physical Model of a Single Bubble Growth during Nucleate Pool Boiling
A simplified physical model of a single bubble growth during nucleate pool boiling was developed. The model was able to correlate the experimentally observed data of the bubble’s growth time and its radius evolution with the use of the appropriate input ...

Nucleate Pool Boiling in Microgravity [PDF]
Nucleate pool boiling is a daily phenomenon transferring effectively high heat flux. It is, however, a very complex and illusive process because of the interrelation of numerous factors and effects as the nucleate process, the growth of the bubbles, the interaction between the heater’s surface with liquid and vapor, the evaporation process at the ...

Experimental studies on nucleate pool boiling heat transfer to ethanol/MEG/DEG ternary mixture as a new coolant [PDF]
In this paper, nucleate pool boiling heat transfer coefficient of ternary mixtures of ethanol, monoethylene glycol (MEG) and diethylene glycol (DEG) as a new coolant with higher heat transfer coefficient has been investigated.

Comparison of heat transfer coefficients of open micro-channels and plain micro-fins
The paper describes results of analysis of pool boiling heat transfer on enhanced surfaces. Two types of structural surfaces were used: open microchannel surfaces consisting of a system of parallel micro-channels 0.3 mm wide, from 0.2 to 0.5 mm deep and ...

Numerical investigation of nucleate pool boiling heat transfer
Multidimensional numerical simulation of the atmospheric saturated pool boiling is performed. The applied modelling and numerical methods enable a full representation of the liquid and vapour two-phase mixture behaviour on the heated surface, with included prediction of the swell level and heated wall temperature field.

A transparent, laser‐microscribed glass platform enables cancer diagnosis within 1 h—much faster than histology, which takes days, and free from the chemical or contrast risks of MRI or CT scans. The antibody‐functionalized rough glass surface captures viable cancer cells directly from suspension, allowing instant optical readout and offering a rapid ...

Osteoporosis from long‐term glucocorticoid (GIOP) use elevates susceptibility to fracture. This study shows GCs impair ascorbic acid (AA) metabolism in osteoblasts, collagen synthesis and extracellular matrix integrity. AA enhanced collagen biochemical and mechanical properties and restored osteoblast and endothelial function. These findings underscore

Heat Transfer of Single and Binary Systems in Pool Boiling
The present research focuses on the study of the effect of mass transfer resistance on the rate of heat transfer in pool boiling. The nucleate pool boiling heat transfer coefficients for binary mixtures (ethanol-n-butanol, acetone-n-butanol, acetone ...
