Vortex nucleation by collapsing bubbles in Bose-Einstein condensates
The nucleation of vortex rings accompanies the collapse of ultrasound bubbles in superfluids. Using the Gross-Pitaevskii equation for a uniform condensate we elucidate the various stages of the collapse of a stationary spherically symmetric bubble and ...

Numerical Modeling of Tank Cars Carrying Hazardous Materials With and Without Composite Metal Foam
Large‐scale puncture models consisting of hazardous materials (HAZMATs) tank car with protective steel–steel composite metal foam (S–S CMF) are solved numerically. Tank car plate with added 10.91–13.33 mm thick S–S CMF layer does not puncture. Protective S–S CMF absorbs impact energy, reduces plate deformation, and prevents shear bands formation ...

Hibiscus Cannabinus Fiber/PP based Nano-Biocomposites Reinforced with Graphene Nanoplatelets
The essence of the present research is based on reinforcement mechanism of hibiscus cannabinus fiber (KF) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNP) on mechanical and thermal properties of hybrid hibiscus cannabinus fiber/polypropylene (PKMG 1–5 phr) nano ...

Heterogeneous critical nucleation on a completely-wettable substrate
Heterogeneous nucleation of a new bulk phase on a flat substrate can be associated with the surface phase transition called wetting transition. When this bulk heterogeneous nucleation occurs on a completely-wettable flat substrate with a zero contact ...

Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Transient Nucleation near the Mean-Field Spinodal
Nucleation is considered near the pseudospinodal in a one-dimensional $\phi^4$ model with a non-conserved order parameter and long-range interactions. For a sufficiently large system or a system with slow relaxation to metastable equilibrium, there is a ...
