Pre‐oviposition development of the brown anole (Anolis sagrei)
Abstract Background The brown anole, Anolis sagrei, has emerged as a representative squamate species for developmental studies during the past decades. Novel functional tools have been established to manipulate embryogenesis through genome editing or the introduction of small molecule inhibitors, and their effective use requires a thorough ...

Ontogeny of RSPO1, FOXL2, and RUNX1 during ovarian differentiation in the marsupial tammar wallaby
Abstract Background RSPO1 and FOXL2 are female sex‐determining genes involved in the differentiation and organization of the ovary in some eutherian mammals. Mutations or loss of function of these genes are associated with partial to full sex reversal in mice, humans, and goats.

Oogenesis and germinal bed morphology of the brown anole (A. sagrei)
Abstract Background The brown anole is a model species of the genus Anolis, a squamate (encompassing lizards and snakes) group widely studied in evolutionary, behavioral, and developmental biology. Full genome annotation, the establishment of gene editing techniques, and comprehensive description of reproductive tract morphology and embryogenesis in ...

Overexpression of rRNA genes in a patient with intellectual disability and familial 13p+ chromosome
A study of a child with intellectual disability revealed an enlarged p-arm in chromosome 13 and amplified rDNA. qRT-PCR showed an approximately 6-fold increased level of rRNA in the patient’s blood samples.
