Nucleotides as nucleophiles: Reactions of nucleotides with phosphoimidazolide activated guanosine

Origins of life and evolution of the biosphere, 1992
An earlier study of the reaction of phosphoimidazolide activated nucleosides (ImpN) in aqueous phosphate buffers indicated two modes of reaction of the phosphate monoanion and dianion. The first mode is catalysis of the hydrolysis of the P-N bond in ImpN's which leads to imidazole and nucleoside 5'-monophosphate.

A new adenine nucleotide

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1953
Abstract A new nucleotide has been shown to be present in commercial samples of adenosine-5′-triphosphate (ATP). The analytical data suggest the structure adenosine-5′-tetraphosphate.

Nucleotides and nucleotide derivatives as signal molecules in plants

Journal of Experimental Botany
Abstract In reaction to a stimulus, signaling molecules are made, generate a response, and are then degraded. Nucleotides are classically associated with central metabolism and nucleic acid biosynthesis, but there are a number of nucleotides and nucleotide derivatives in plants to which this simple definition of a signaling molecule ...

Profiling of Sugar Nucleotides

2017
Sugar nucleotides are essential building blocks for the glycobiology of all living organisms. Detailed information on the types of sugar nucleotides present in a particular cell and how they change as a function of metabolic, developmental, or disease status is vital.

Nucleotide und Nucleinsäuren

1997

Nucleotides

2015
: Nucleotides are phosphorylated nucleosides. A nucleoside is a combination of a nucleic acid base and a sugar. ATP is a nucleotide that participates in numerous energy transduction reactions. NTPs are the ultimate building blocks of nucleic acids. Nucleic acid polymerases are referred to as pols.
