Effect of Spot Weld Indentation on Spot Weld Nugget Characterization
2018 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS), 2018When using the ultrasonic attenuation to size the nugget in the C-scan image, the contribution of indentation to ultrasonic wave attenuation will affect the accuracy of sizing the nugget. This paper studies the effect of the indentation on the sizing of spot weld nugget.

EFFECTS OF HYDROCOLLOIDS ON APPARENT VISCOSITY OF BATTERS AND QUALITY OF CHICKEN NUGGETS
Chemical Engineering Communications, 2006The effect of different types of starches and gums on batter consistency and the effect of batter consistency on quality parameters of deep-fat fried chicken nuggets were determined in this study. Consistency of batter was correlated with coating pickup and oil content of the product.

Spatially varying cross-correlation coefficients in the presence of nugget effects
Biometrika, 2012SUMMARY We derive sufficient conditions for the cross-correlation coefficient of a multivariate spatial process to vary with location when the spatial model is augmented with nugget effects. The derived class is valid for anychoiceofcovariancefunctions, andyieldssubstantialflexibilitybetweenmultipleprocesses.Thekeyis to identify the cross-correlation ...

Nugget effect, artificial or natural?
2010Knowing the origin of the relevant and irrelevant components of the nugget effect is essential to optimize the process under study. This paper describes the causes of the nugget effect and, its dependency on the sample support, sampling density, and on the QA/QC procedures. Several examples of natural and 'human' nugget effect are given.

Comments on F. Pitard’ S “Exploration of the Nugget Effect”
1994In another paper in the same forum, F. Pitard describes the components of the nugget effect from his prospective as a specialist of the theory of sampling of broken ores. In this paper, it is shown that Pitard’ s viewpoint and a purely geostatistical approach to these problems can be reconciliated, the latter bringing an added generality to the formula

Statistics or geostatistics? Sampling error or nugget effect?
2010What is a nugget effect? In the early development of geostatistics, the term 'nugget effect' was coined for the apparent discontinuity at the beginning of many semivariogram graphs. This name was chosen to reflect the large differences found between neighbouring samples in 'nuggety' mineralizations such as Wits gold reefs. Geostatistical theory assumes
