Sammendrag Voksne døve innvandrere som lærer norsk tegnspråk (NTS), er en heterogen og liten gruppe. Enda mindre gruppe er voksne døve innvandrere som lærer et tegnspråk for første gang i sitt liv her. I den gruppen er det noen som har lært talespråk og lært å lese og skrive hjemlandets språk.
