Null Controllability of Linear Systems with Constrained Controls

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1980
The paper considers the problem of steering the state of a linear time-varying system to the origin when the control is subject to magnitude constraints. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for global constrained controllability as well as a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a control (satisfying the constraints) which ...

Comparison of null-space and minimal null-space control algorithms

Robotica, 2007
SUMMARYThis paper deals with the stability of null-space velocity control algorithms in extended operational space for redundant robots. We compare the performance of the control algorithm based on the minimal null-space projection and generalized-inverse-based projection into the Jacobian null-space.

Simultaneous null controllability with constraint on the control

Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2013
This paper is concerned with the simultaneous null controllability with constraint on the control, for a system of coupled linear heat equations. First, we show that, by means of a change of variable, a system of two linear heat equations with a same control can be rewritten in the form of a system of linear heat equations with a control function ...

Adaptive null steering beamformer implementation for flexible broad null control

Signal Processing, 2011
An implementation of adaptive null steering beamformer for flexible broad null control, based on constrained recursive updating of array response zeros and spatial FIR filters, is presented. The design allows the beamformer to form broad nulls and control their widths readily. The new method is of great advantage for sensor array in which the number of

Null Controllability of a Fluid-Structure System

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 2013
We study a coupled fluid-structure system. The structure corresponds to a part of the boundary of a domain containing an incompressible viscous fluid. The structure displacement is modeled by an ordinary differential equation. We prove the local null controllability of the system when the control acts on a fixed subset of the fluid domain.

Null Controllability of the Free Surface of a Liquid in a Container

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 2004
Summary: This paper deals with the well-posedness, boundary observability, and boundary controllability of a model of lateral sloshing in moving containers. It begins with a short review of the lateral sloshing theory, then the problem is solved by combining the Fourier method and the Hilbert uniqueness method of J.-L. Lions.
