Survival Outcomes in Older Adults With Axial Spondyloarthritis and Concomitant Cancer

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The objective of this study was to determine survival outcomes in older adults with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and concomitant cancer. Methods We conducted a population‐based study using Medicare claims data linked to Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results data to determine overall survival (OS) and cancer‐specific survival (CSS) in

Curves whose curvature depends on their position and null curves

open access: yesJournal of Geometry
AbstractWe show that, apart from degeneracies, determining a plane curve whose curvature depends on its position essentially consists of determining a null curve in the Lorentzian 3-space when the null tangent direction depends on its position. We use this point of view to investigate the intrinsic equations for the n-elastic curves.

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

NON-NULL CURVES OF TZITZEICA TYPE IN MINKOWSKI 3-SPACE [PDF]

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Mathematics and Computer Science, 2014
In this paper, we study non-null curves of Tzitzeica type in Minkowski 3-space E_1^3 . We find a simple link between Tzitzeica curves and Rectifying curves in E_1^3.

Mannheim Curves in Nonflat 3-Dimensional Space Forms

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2015
We consider the Mannheim curves in nonflat 3-dimensional space forms (Riemannian or Lorentzian) and we give the concept of Mannheim curves. In addition, we investigate the properties of nonnull Mannheim curves and their partner curves.

Non-differential measurement error does not always bias diagnostic likelihood ratios towards the null

open access: yesEmerging Themes in Epidemiology, 2006
Diagnostic test evaluations are susceptible to random and systematic error. Simulated non-differential random error for six different error distributions was evaluated for its effect on measures of diagnostic accuracy for a brucellosis competitive ELISA.

Some Null Quaternionic Curves in Minkowski spaces

open access: yesCelal Bayar Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi, 2018
In this work, we examine null quaternionic rectifying curves and null quaternionic similar curves in Minkowski space E1^3. Also, we defined null quaternionic (1,3)-Bertrand partner curves in E1^4. Thus, we have characterizations between curvatures of these curves in Minkowski spaces.
