Substrate Engineering of SWCNT p–n Junctions for Dual‐Mode Power Generation and Heat‐Flux Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Through substrate engineering alone, a single‐walled carbon nanotube p–n junction device switches between two functions under uniform infrared irradiation. A low‐absorbance substrate sustains a central hot junction for continuous power generation, whereas high‐absorbance substrates transiently invert the temperature gradient for sensitive heat‐flux ...

Porous Ultralow‐κ sp2‐Bonded Boron Nitride Thin Films as Copper Diffusion Barriers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Porous sp2‐bonded boron nitride (p‐BN) thin films with an ultralow dielectric constant (κ = 1.77) are directly grown on Si substrates via RF magnetron sputtering. The films feature uniform nanopores (1.85 nm), high mechanical stability, hydrophobicity, and excellent Cu diffusion barrier performance even at 3 nm thickness, offering a promising solution ...

Further Evidences for the Sulfur Spillover on Carbon: Thermodynamic Aspects and Effects on Li‐S Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates sulfur spillover, the spontaneous and rapid spread of sulfur over carbon surfaces at ambient temperature. The process is studied by small‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS), X‐ray radiography, and microcalorimetry from which a number of physicochemical properties are derived.

Multi‐Scale Bionic Structure Constructs Biomass Flame‐Retardant Thermal Insulation Foam Material

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by mussel adhesion and hierarchical brick‐and‐mortar architectures, a cellulose‐based biomimetic foam is constructed by anchoring bentonite nanosheets onto a polydopamine‐decorated cellulose nanofiber network. The resulting foam combines low thermal conductivity with intrinsic flame retardancy and full biodegradability, presenting a ...

Geometry‐Regulated Electrode‐Wide Nucleation Patterns in Aqueous Zinc Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐ablated 3D hole patterning enables geometry‐driven control of Zn deposition in aqueous batteries. The hole opening ratio (HOR) governs electrode‐wide nucleation patterns by regulating the spatial distribution of nucleation sites and the evolution of early‐stage Zn deposits.

Wafer‐Scale 3D Integration for High‐Density Multi‐Valued Neuromorphic Logic

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale 3D vertically integrated multi‐valued logic (MVL) circuits are realized by monolithically integrating a Te/IGZO heterojunction FET with an engineered Te pull‐up FET. Heterointerface‐mediated transport and optimized current matching enable stable ternary operation, while vertical stacking reduces circuit footprint and interconnect complexity,

Improving High‐Temperature Operational Stability of Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells Through MXene Heat‐Dissipating Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MeO‐2PACz‐functionalized MXene nanosheets create a thermally conductive buried interface in inverted perovskite solar cells. The interface improves heat spreading, suppresses defects and ion migration, and strengthens charge extraction, extending T80 at 65°C from 141 to 687 h while maintaining competitive efficiency.
