Medicane characteristics from high‐resolution satellite radar observations
Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, Volume 152, Issue 776, April 2026 Part A.This study uses high‐resolution observations from satellite synthetic aperture radar (SAR) to reveal that medicanes, cyclones with tropical features in the Mediterranean basin, have dynamical characteristics with attributes comparable with those of tropical cyclones of similar intensities, but smaller outer sizes and Rossby numbers.
