A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Maximizing the number of spanning trees in a graph with n nodes and m edges
The problem considered is that of determining, among all graphs on n nodes and m edges, those having the maximum number of spanning trees. The possible candidate graphs can be obtained by deleting some number k of edges from a complete n-node graph.

The number of spanning trees in circulant graphs [PDF]
In this paper we develop a method for determining the exact number of spanning trees in (directed or undirected) circulant graphs. Using this method we can, for any class of circulant graph, exhibit a recurrence relation for the number of its spanning ...

Coordinated Architectural and Chemical Reinforcement in the Crushing Mandible of a Soldier Termite
The crushing mandible of a soldier termite withstands substantial biting loads despite lacking mineral. Its cuticle is partitioned: convex teeth pair hardness and zinc enrichment with aligned chitin fibers for contact durability, while stiffer concave regions between teeth carry bending loads.

Complexity of Products of Some Complete and Complete Bipartite Graphs
The number of spanning trees in graphs (networks) is an important invariant; it is also an important measure of reliability of a network. In this paper, we derive simple formulas of the complexity, number of spanning trees, of products of some complete ...

Melanin content directly controls fungal spore mechanical properties, with pigmented spores achieving rupture forces two orders of magnitude higher than hyaline spores. Environmental stress drives this quantity‐quality tradeoff; stressed species invest energy in melanin‐reinforced, mechanically superior thick‐walled, super‐hydrophobic spores, while ...

Architecture‐Driven Functional Coupling in Vertically Aligned Nanocomposites
Vertically aligned nanocomposites define a growth‐engineered architecture in which vertical interfaces, strain fields, defect pathways, and phase connectivity are created simultaneously. This review shows how these architectural features couple ferroic, optical, ionic, electrochemical, and device responses, establishing design rules and open challenges

Fast reoptimization for the minimum spanning tree problem [PDF]
We study reoptimization versions of the minimum spanning tree problem. The reoptimization setting can generally be formulated as follows: given an instance of the problem for which we already know some optimal solution, and given some “small ...

Biodegradable 3D‐Printable and Coatable Antifouling Composites for Marine Applications
Marine biofouling damages submerged surfaces and raises greenhouse gas emissions. Biodegradable antifouling biocomposites were developed by hot‐mixing beeswax, Tween 80, and calcium stearate or stearic acid. Adjusting the component ratio enables processing via hot‐pressing, 3D‐printing, or dip‐coating.
