Application of the Monte Carlo method with meshless random walk procedure to selected scalar elliptic problems

open access: yesArchives of Mechanics, 2019
The combined stochastic-deterministic approach, which may be applied to the numerical analysis of a wide range of scalar elliptic problems of civil engineering, is presented in this paper.

Monte Carlo Simulations for Resolving Verifiability Paradoxes in Forecast Risk Management and Corporate Treasury Applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Financial Studies
Forecast risk management is central to the financial management process. This study aims to apply Monte Carlo simulation to solve three classic probabilistic paradoxes and discuss their implementation in corporate financial management.

Comparative study of theoretical methods for nonequilibrium quantum transport

open access: yes, 2010
We present a detailed comparison of three different methods designed to tackle nonequilibrium quantum transport, namely the functional renormalization group (fRG), the time-dependent density matrix renormalization group (tDMRG), and the iterative ...

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Bayesian and Non-Bayesian Inference for the Trigonometric Extended Rayleigh-Weibull Model Under Progressively Censored Data

open access: yesIEEE Access
In this paper, a new extension of the Rayleigh-Weibull (RW) model, called the sine Rayleigh-Weibull (SRW) model, is proposed. This model is constructed using the trigonometrically generated family of distributions based on sine functions and involves two
