Numerical Plastic-Fracture Models for Concrete
1984The results of finite-element analyses of concrete structures utilizing a plasticity-based concrete model are summarized. The complete plastic-fracture model assumes a four-parameter failure criterion and a plasticity model with mixed hardening rule for the irreversible deformations induced by micro-cracks.

Numerical Modelling of Fracture Propagation
1983Why should one study fracture propagation? Is not prediction of fracture initiation the object of fracture mechanics? In his papers on rupture under tensile and compressive loading, Griffith1,2 proposed conditions for fracture initiation which he presumed to be coincident with structural instability. The vast majority of the fracture mechanics research

Numerical Modeling of Fracture Propagation During Temporary-Plugging Fracturing
SPE Journal, 2019Summary Temporary-plugging fracturing (TPF) is becoming a promising technique for maximizing the stimulated-reservoir volume in tight reservoirs by injecting diverting agents to plug the preferred perforations and/or hydraulic fractures (HFs). Previous work has developed diverting agents and evaluated their blocking efficiency.

Fracture of Metal Foams: In‐situ Testing and Numerical Modeling
Advanced Engineering Materials, 2004AbstractThis paper is on a combined experimental/modeling study on the tensile fracture of open‐cell foams. In‐situ tensile tests show that individual struts can fail in a brittle or ductile mode, presumably depending on the presence of casting defects. In‐situ single strut tests were performed, enabling observation of deformation and fracture behavior

Numerical modeling of fracture coalescence in a model rock material
International Journal of Fracture, 1998The crack pattern, as well as crack initiation, -propagation and -coalescence observed in experiments on gypsum specimens with pre-existing fractures in uniaxial, biaxial, and tensile loading are satisfactorily predicted with the numerical model presented in this paper.

Numerical Modelling of Acid Fracturing Across Fracture-Propagation Regimes
ADIPECSummary Acid fracturing in tight formations exemplifies reactive flow coupled with rock deformation and crack growth, and remains a widely used stimulation technique. Predictive modeling is challenging because pressure-dependent apertures, tip-driven propagation, and wall dissolution interact across distinct propagation regimes.
