A numerical model for large deformation

Proceedings of 13th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 1996
Motion study in computer vision highly depends on the type of imagery and on the kind of the studied objects. A popular approach of non-rigid motion supposes that the objects are continuously and locally deformed. Local features, such as curvature extrema, are then often used.

Numerical Model of Coarticulation

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1967
The essential features of the coarticulation properties of Swedish dental stops in vowel-consonant-vowel contexts can be described by the formula s(x; t) = v(x; l)+k (t)[c(x) − v(x; t)]wc(x), where x represents the longitudinal distance between lips and glottis and s(x; t) denotes the shape of the vocal tract at some instant of time, t, during the ...

Numerical Modelling of Coastal Currents

2006
A numerical model has been developed for the simulation of transformations of traveling coastal waves and wave induced coastal currents. The model is applicable to varying bottom topographies and has two components, a wave propagation model and a wave driven current model.

Numerical modelling

2021
Abstract Modelling and tuning of muon beamlines can be carried out using matrix techniques from optics, or via ray tracing methods. Monte Carlo methods for determining the muon stopping profile allow optimal degrader thicknesses to be computed, and pressure- cell and low-energy measurements to be planned.

NUMERICAL MODELS | Methods

2003
Numerical modeling of the atmosphere is challenging because of the enormous range of space and timescales involved, and because many qualitative features, such as balance and conservation, must be accurately captured. We discuss here a number of topics that have proved important historically in the development of numerical models of the atmosphere ...
